Greenville Symphony Chamber Orchestra: A Night in Vienna!

cl-151122squareThis concert program comes from the Palmetto State, but it transports us to Vienna for music in the great Classical and Romantic tradition of that city. A rousing overture by von Suppe is followed by symphonies from two of the greatest writing in that form, Haydn and Schubert. Then there’s the infectious and toe-tapping music of the Strauss family before the program switches over to Columbia for highlights from a concert by the USC School of Music Symphony Orchestra. They welcome renowned pianist Mischa Maisky for an ever-popular work by Rachmaninoff.
